I don’t own a touring motorcycle, but I would like to join a Tour?
The Yamaha TRACER Tours experience, operated by Focused Motorcycle Tours, is a partnership between Focused Events and Yamaha Motor UK.
All Tours include the rental of a new 2026 Yamaha TRACER machine, so you don’t need to own a touring bike (or any other bike) to take part.
Please note that you can’t use your own touring bike on the Yamaha TRACER Tours as these are organised group Touring experiences using our fleet of 2026 Yamaha Tracer machines.
You’ll enjoy the camaraderie of the group and incredible scenery all while riding a brand-new Yamaha TRACER machine - one of the most acclaimed and well-equipped sport touring bikes available.
“A sport-touring motorcycle designed to take on the roads of life, packed with clever engineering and design solutions to ensure the best possible riding experience.”
How do I book my tour?
Booking a tour with Focused Motorcycle Tours is easy and hassle-free. Once you’ve selected your preferred tour date, you’ll be directed to our booking page where you can choose to ride a TRACER 7 GT or upgrade to a TRACER 9 GT.
Our team will then be in contact with you within 48 hours, to advise you of further tour options and upgrades for you to consider. This will be in relevance of riding equipment and hotel accommodation.
Are pillion riders allowed?
Pillion passengers are welcome to join the Tours, but we do recommend that the rider has experience of carrying a pillion and of course the combined weights of the rider, pillion and luggage must not exceed the bikes stated maximum load capacity. There is an additional charge for pillion riders which covers their accommodation and meals. Contact Focused Motorcycle Tours for further information.
What documents are needed to be able to book a tour?
You’ll need to provide details of a valid, in-date motorcycle licence that covers the required category for the tour. Your licence must also be presented on arrival.
If you are travelling from outside the UK, you must hold a valid International Driving licence and provide a copy of your passport, visa (if required), and valid travel insurance.
What kind of driving licence do I need to have?
To be able to ride on a Yamaha TRACER Tour, you will need to have a full, valid UK motorcycle A category driving license or a valid equivalent international motorcycle driving license for machines over 650cc.
I am not a UK resident so what kind of documents do I need to join the Tour?
If you hold a non-UK motorcycle licence, you must have a valid International Driving licence, a valid passport, and the appropriate visa for travel to the UK.
You will also need personal overseas travel insurance that includes medical cover.
Does the Tour cost include all food and drink?
Breakfast, set lunch and set dinner costs are included. All beverages are the responsibility of the participants.
Can I join the Tour on my own Yamaha?
The Tour logistics, support and accommodation are fully pre-arranged meaning participation is limited to the Yamaha TRACER motorcycles provided as part of the experience.
How many riders are on each Yamaha TRACER Tour?
Each Tour is led by an experienced Guide Rider, with a second support Guide riding at the rear of the group.
We limit each tour to a maximum of 10 participants; plus the two guides (12 riders in total) This number excludes any pillions.
This number ensures a manageable group whilst on the road but ensures great social atmosphere in the evenings!
How difficult and challenging will the actual riding be?
The Yamaha TRACER Tour routes are designed to explore the best roads and countryside that the UK has to offer. These will be delivered at a safe and level pace, so that you can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. We encourage you to ride to a level you feel safe and comfortable with, and our guide riders will ensure everyone’s needs are met. We’ll cover a variety of roads throughout the route, entirely on tarmac and without any particularly challenging sections.
How many miles will we ride each day?
Again, this varies on the different Tours so check the Tour itineraries. The maximum will be 200 miles per day, depending on the type of roads we take. On the smaller twisty roads, we will allocate more time to enjoy the scenery! We anticipate each leg of the trip should be around 5-6 hours of riding, with breaks in between for lunch and refreshments. We aim to be at the accommodation at a good time so you can also enjoy the overnight locations and relax before dinner. No night riding is planned.
What happens if we get bad weather?
Our tours are scheduled during the summer months, but this is the UK and changeable weather is always possible. In the unlikely event of rain, we’ll simply adjust the pace accordingly. The bikes offer excellent weather protection, are fitted with high-quality Dunlop tyres, and you also have the option of using our RST riding kit. If the weather gets really bad the Guides may decide to shorten the route or use different roads to get to the next accommodation stop. Safety and comfort will always be our number one consideration. Part of the fun and the experience of touring is being out in nature and the weather is just a part of that.
What if I get lost?
Each Tour is escorted by professional Guide Riders and each bike has navigation so it’s unlikely you will get lost.
While the group may naturally spread out depending on riding ability/pace, a support Guide always rides at the rear to ensure no one is left behind. We also schedule regular stops for viewpoints and refreshments, giving everyone plenty of opportunities to regroup.
Our simple riding system will be fully explained at the start of the tour. We’ve successfully operated tours with much larger groups in the past and have never lost a rider — our Guides are there to make sure everyone stays safe and together throughout each day.
Where do I collect my motorcycle for the tour?
Each of the Yamaha TRACER Tours start from a main authorised Yamaha motorcycle dealership. On Day 1 of each tour (departure day) you will collect your TRACER machine and depart from the dealership with the group.
I’m going to drive to the departure point so where can I park my car?
Each Yamaha dealership departure point has been carefully selected for its convenient road, air and rail access. Secure parking is arranged for participants for the duration of the tour.
Your tour will also finish at the same dealership, making collection straightforward and hassle-free.
Will there be a backup vehicle on the tour?
We use a brand-new fleet of TRACER motorcycles that have been checked and prepared by Yamaha Motor UK and we have the support of the network of franchised UK Yamaha dealers, so a backup vehicle is not required.
However, we do of course have plans in place should there be an issue that can’t be immediately resolved. It’s worth noting therefore that all your luggage should be able to be carried on the motorcycle and every bike is equipped with a convenient removeable inner bag for the side cases and there are options for both a tank bag and a rear Top Case if more luggage capacity is required.
Dinners are all informal so leave the Tuxedo at home!
Is fuel included in the price?
Our tour prices are designed to cover all the necessary items so yes fuel is included in the cost of your tour. Your Guide Rider will pay when refuelling is required.
What bike specification and accessories are included in the Tour cost?
Each bike is very well equipped and comes as standard with; large hard side cases with removeable inner bags, heated grips, Cruise Control, Rider Modes, 12v outlet, navigation connectivity, adjustable screen. In addition, we can offer the choice of standard gearshift or the new Yamaha Y-AMT manual/auto gearshift system at no extra charge (subject to availability). Check out the full bike specifications on the Yamaha Motor UK website.
But what if I need a different screen or a lowered bike?
Just let us know your height and any specific requirements when booking. We are happy to fit genuine Yamaha low seat options and/or larger screens as part of your bike preparation, at no additional cost.
All machines feature adjustable suspension, and some models also offer adjustable seat heights and footpeg positions, to ensure your motorcycle is set up to suit you, no matter your height or size. Therefore, we will request your height and weight to be able to set your motorcycle up for you at an optimum setting for your arrival.
If I don’t have suitable riding gear. Can I still join a Tour?
All riders and pillions must wear appropriate riding gear for the duration of the tour. Riding gear is essential for protection against impact, abrasion, changing weather conditions and much more.
You’re welcome to bring your own gear, or we can provide rental riding gear for a small additional charge. Renting can be a convenient option if you’re flying to the tour start or travelling by public transport and prefer not to carry bulky luggage.
How do I rent riding gear for the Tours?
We offer top of the line RST riding equipment and selected riding kit through our partnership with RST Moto. If you’d like to rent equipment, simply let us know when booking.
Please note that rental gear is subject to availability.
Do you also have helmets available?
Our partners at Arai have provided a selection of the best helmets available today and with safety in in mind, we strongly recommend you use a quality helmet and these are available for you to hire. All helmets are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised between tours. We will require both your helmet size and head measurement in advance to ensure the correct fit. Clear visors are used so you may wish to bring sunglasses.
How do I book the correct sizes of my rented gear and helmet for the Tour?
Riding kit and helmets are available in a wide choice of sizes however are subject to availability. You are advised to call the us directly to confirm the availability of the correct sizes.
Are the TRACER machines equipped to allow me to power items such as phones or other devices?
Every TRACER is equipped with a phone holder and has a 12v output. In addition, TRACERS have connectivity and you can download the free Garmin Motorize app and this can be displayed on the main TFT screen. We recommend you download both the Garmin Motorize app and the My Yamaha riding app in advance of your Tour so we can pair your phone to the bike on arrival at the start point.
What type of accommodation will we be staying at?
We have selected a variety of unique motorcycle-friendly accommodation for each tour. During the Tour you will stay in hand-picked accommodation that is secure and especially suited for motorcycle riders. As we travel through more remote and scenic parts of the UK, accommodation styles may vary, but quality and suitability are always prioritised.
What accommodation options are available?
We carefully assess standards across the board - including room quality, hospitality and food to ensure a consistently enjoyable stay.
Will I be sharing my room?
When booking, you’ll be shown the available accommodation options for your chosen tour. The standard tour price is based on a twin room sharing.
Unless you select single occupancy, you will share a room with another guest of the same gender.
If you are travelling as a rider with a pillion, you will have the option to share a room together.
What are emergency contact details? Why do you need it?
The Emergency contact details of a rider will be the first point of contact for our support team in the unlikely event of an emergency or medical issue. It is mandatory to give us your emergency contact details but note we will only communicate with the emergency contact person in the case of an emergency.
How are Tour prices calculated?
The Tour’s prices are designed to be inclusive without any hidden costs. These prices include daily bike rental, fully comprehensive motor insurance, fuel costs, hotel costs, all meals, route planning and guide rider support. We try to price our trips fairly to accommodate different budgets.
Our knowledge and experience ensure every detail is carefully considered. From unique locations, specialised kit, great food, and experienced staff, we offer incredible value for money compared to other tour companies and we can only do this because of the generous support of our partners – Yamaha Motor UK, RST-Moto, Arai and Dunlop.
